Painting:
Music's Beauty, #1325 - 40" x 60" - $3,300
Jim Stallings - "Painter to the Symphonies" (View Chronology)Jim Stallings is considered an artist's artist. Fascinated with art and past artists from a very early age, private painting classes at age eight started the course of Stallings destiny. After a degree from Central State University and a diploma from City University in London, Stallings embarked on a backpacking odyssey for two years that included more than five hundred miles in the Grand Canyon and the surrounding states ending in Alaska for four months. Stallings then landed on Maui with a backpack and a duffle bag. Stallings hung his first early paintings in restaurants which sold quickly leading to a number of gallery shows. Stallings rose successfully to become a top selling artist. He then opened his own gallery in Lahaina enjoying the friendships made with collectors from every state in the United States and all over the world. Stallings has explored the relationship of music and pure color for the whole of his artistic career. Deciding early on to pursue canvases of whimsy and purity, questions about the relationship of music to art led Stallings to paint live on stage with major symphony orchestras. Painting the sound of music was a defining moment in Stallings career. He has continued to explore the vibrational harmony of music, color and the human spirit with world renowned conductors and physicists which have led to several experiments aboard the spaceship Columbia. After selling more than a thousand original works of art, Stallings' drive to grow further as an artist led him back to the mainland to pursue his love of painting live with symphony orchestras and jazz music. His love of the southwest led him immediately back to the Grand Canyon where land for a studio was purchased as well as a second stuido just outside Yosemite. Never complacent, Stallings will continue to stretch his artistic limits while enjoying traveling, meeting new friends and creating new works that are unfolding as this artist lives his dreams. |
